C3 Long Island

We pray that these writigs inspire your relationship with God, your family, and your community. Through this blog we hope to share weekly inspiration that brings hope, wisdom, and true love of God’s word and how it can impact our lives.

I recently had the opportunity to pray with and be encouraged by my spiritual father, friend, and mentor Peter Crescenti.  During this special moving moment, we were able to share with each other our promises from God in prayer and our greater hope in God and his mighty power.  During that prayer time I heard one prophetic word that resounded deeply in that moment, not only for Pete, but for myself as well, when I ruminated on it later. When we feel tired, when we feel burdened, and when we feel that the battle has been long, God reminds us that he has blessed us with spiritual fathers, spiritual brothers, spiritual sisters, and spiritual sons/daughters, as well as amazing leaders to embolden our faith.  Sometimes it’s not so much a matter of losing faith or having doubt.  On occasion, it’s more of how you’ve endured the battle and how fatigued we’ve become in the physical, spiritual, emotional, and even psychological fight.

But God, in that one swooping, unexpected moment, brings a bolt of his power through prayer that reignites the hope to a new level; it launches faith to a new level, it elevates love for him to a new level, and produces boldness to a new level.  You are left with the signature feeling that God was just in that prayer, a reassurance in your heart evidenced by how it leapt while you pronounced Holy Spirit-inspired prophetic words, utterances, and verses to the delight of our God-born spirit and our human understanding.

4One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalms 145;4

6so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Psalms 78:6

Why am I writing about this? To elaborate that it truly demonstrates the unsurpassed ability of the effect that one generation of believers can have on another and vice versa.  What I love about C3 Long Island and being a believer in Christ overall is this: that in God you become enmeshed in every way with others that you normally may not interact with outside of God.  Human culture and society have a way of categorizing people on race, ethnicity, origin, interests, abilities, desires, and even skill.  However, in Christ we all come together, the greater our differences, the greater God uses it to empower each other and demonstrate his true plan for mankind.  How? Through UNITY and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! And even more powerful is that it’s done through the generations in a church.

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 NIV

Generations build God's kingdom together, we build each other, and we build gateways through culture, society, and the world to continue the work that Christ started on the cross that will end when we are all restored to his Glory one day.  Generations working together through God’s spirit as it severs loneliness, doubt, fear, and unbelief.  It severs every aspect of the work of the enemy and the spirit of pride that can keep us isolated when we are weak.  I inspire you and encourage you to build your bridge of generations to heaven.  Mentor a young believer, be mentored by a mature believer, impact youth, listen to the prayers of wisdom and the counsel of those who came before us as church leaders.  Get into God’s word, as it contains the most palatable, true, time-tested, holy, and victorious message that you will ever receive for many more generations to come!  Generations are truly a gift from God!
